Raised in the Deep South, I learned the art of barbecue from the best teacher I ever had: my grandmother, Venda Rea Campbell.
She cooked on a big open pit in the backyard with wood, live fire, and a whole lot of love. She taught me that great barbecue isn't just about the food. It's about the people gathered around the table.
That's still my purpose today: to honor her legacy and bring people together, one plate at a time.
